Alfonso grew up within the Houston metropolitan area. He was brought up by creative parents, who influenced Alfonso to develop an artistic sensibility from an early age, along with a deep sensitivity and appreciation for natural Beauty and crafted design.

Alfonso’s father is a resourceful and multi-talented individual who possesses a knack for making things with beautiful design and functionality. He is equally skilled both as a tailor and a woodworker. His mother has a similar artistic eye. On vacations, she would always have a 35 mm camera by her side to capture beautiful family moments, a camera that she would eventually give to Alfonso.

Alfonso marvels at the Beauty that surrounds him, be it natural or man-made, and he strives to imitate and elaborate that Beauty through his talents as a photographer, sculptor, and painter. He has developed an aesthetic that is simple and minimalist, but also profound and meaning-charged. In his photography, he has an eye for design and landscapes which he captures with calming equilibrium.  His sculptures and painting abstract the symmetry that he admires in nature and imbues it with unique perspective.

Alfonso has dedicated himself to Beauty Itself, seeking its manifestations in the world and translating it into art that both captures the Beauty that touches him and re-interprets It from the unique perspective of his personal experience.  

Alfonso has a degree in Commercial Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography, and currently resides in New York City.
